First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes a baby in a baby carriage

Life with Jake and I has been great. He moved in with me about 2 months ago. We both have awesome jobs that we love, and things have been smooth sailing.

Well, a few weeks ago (June 7th to be exact), I found out that I am pregnant! We are both ecstatic about this! And nervous all at the same time, but that's completely natural.

(YEP! That's a POSITIVE!)
 

So far, the little seamonkey is 7 weeks along (it could be up to 11 weeks though, we will find out for sure at my first ultrasound in a week.)

One of the biggest questions we kept getting asked right away is: "When are you guys getting married?!" Everyone is so quick to ask that question. It doesn't bother me, unless they say it in a way as if we HAVE to get married. And sometimes I just want to say, NO we don't HAVE to, we WANT to. I already had the feeling before this, that I could and just might spend the rest of my life with Jake. Do I want to marry him? Absolutely! Am I in any rush to do so? Nope. It will happen when it happens. Whether it's a month from now or 5 years from now, it will happen, and we will be happy for doing it whichever way we choose. We can't do it because people expect us to, we need to do it for us, and for our family.

But as of right now, we are just enjoying our time together until the baby does come. We are still getting over the surprise, and then we will deal with that later. No need to add extra stress right now :)



Also, I know it sounds silly to do, but I am going to start taking picture each week so we can see the changes :-)

Introductions and Stuff!

Since this blog is going to be specifically about Jake and I, I figure I might as well throw a little background information in here about us :)

We have been dating for about 6 months now. We actually dated back in high school (well, had more or less of a "fling") but we got back in touch last year, then decided to hang out and catch up back in January, and the rest is history!

This is the handsome boy who stole my heart. Jake is 23 and currently works for Western Trailers as a welding fabricator. He is also the drummer for "Our City Skyline", a local hardcore band (which I love!) Jake is also really into art. Abstract oil paintings, metal sculpting, all that stuff. 

And this is me. I'm April. 22 years old, and currently working for Idaho Athletic Club as a Fitness Consultant.  Fitness and music lover. I love to cook! Especially for groups of people. I'm also starting to get really in to photography, so stay tuned for some sweet  pictures!
